Meet the Assistant Principal

Meet the Assistant Principal
Hello, and thank you for your interest in getting to know me more!
I am so proud to serve as your Assistant Principal. As I enter my 19th year in education, I am excited to get to know my students, parents, and fellow educators even more and work together to build and maintain our strong and caring community.
Here is a little about me and how I got to where I am today. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education (with a minor in Special Education) from the University of Arizona (Bear Down!). After graduating, I stayed in Tucson, Arizona and started my career in education teaching 6th graders! After a few years, my husband, Nick, and I moved to Portland, Oregon where I gained experience with 5th and 1st graders. While teaching, I obtained my Master of Arts in Special Education from Portland State University and worked in Special Education along with my 1st grade students.
In 2016, my family and I moved back to Arizona landing me in Kyrene! I have taught first grade, been an Academic Interventionist for Kindergarten through 8th grade, and have now been a Kyrene Assistant Principal for 3 years after receiving my Master of Education in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University.
I have a strong passion for teaching and mentoring, but my other love is my family. I am a proud wife to my husband Nick, and dedicated Mom to my three amazing children, Henry, Charlie and Oliver (and fur baby Frankie). In both roles as teacher and mom, I lead with kindness, hard work, organization, and teamwork. When I’m not leading or busy with my family, you’ll find me enjoying a nice cup of coffee and a good book!
I feel so lucky and honored to be able to apply my experience and knowledge to the amazing KTA community and look forward to our year ahead!
